I really liked this! Great job!
As a VERY novice runner, I found this route very challanging as my first 10k (first run altogether!) It was a stunning route, aided by the beautiful weather and the very friendly environment! The volunteers, organisers and other competitors were friendly, helpful and very supportive! As I crossed the finish line second from last, the winners were willing everyone on and helped the complete the fantastic atmosphere of the day. Thankyou to all, I will certainly be back next year!
It would be really helpful if there were distance markers every km, apologies if there were but we only noticed a couple so if there were perhaps they could be made clearer
Thanks
This is a really nice route as it is so mixed; the long hill on road at the start nicely spreads out the pack. Then the good shaded flat Tarmac up to the 5km point is a nice rest. Then you decide if you are wearing the correct shoes as you start down a flint track heading into the wood track. After some smallish ups and downs and another stretch on old Tarmac is a long narrow down hill on a chalk track. If you can take your eyes away from where you are placing your feet, then you are rewarded with some nice views over the chalk downland. If not then keep going down the hill to the railway, and the dog leg that takes you away from the finish. Then back to Tarmac and through the picturesque village and back to the start.
Please feel free to enter any comments you have regarding the day. Good or bad they will help us to improve things (if necessary) for next year.
